Hello Fiber Friends!
If you follow us over on Instagram, then you are well aware that we traveled to Moab, UT for Spring Break. Let me tell you it was so much fun! Since 2018, I’ve been focused on experiencing first! This has been pushing me more and more out of my comfort zone. It is leading to me being more adventurous too. Well, since our family had never been to Moab, UT, we decided to go!
While we were there, we checked out Arches National Park. Let me tell you, this was definitely a first!!! Our family hiked a 9 mile loop which consisted of the scariest, most death defying rock climb ever! I was so scared but of course, I couldn’t show it! Moms you can totally relate to keeping it together for the kids. On the inside I was FREAKING OUT!!! There was no real ledge or anything to really grab a hold to but as you can see we survived. Despite the fear that came, I pushed past it. I didn’t let the fear of potentially falling stop me from pushing forward. I had to keep going...I had no choice. Now as I travel through life, I will have this as a momento to remember that despite how scary something may seem, you will survive and make it to the other side.
The best part of the whole trip, was going to the local yarn shop!!! YESSSS!!! Moab has a LYS! Desert Thread is a super cute yarn shop off Main Street. I met Ms. Rosie and let me tell you she is super sweet and super cute. I think my hubs was tired of all of our chatting but I met a new friend!
Desert Thread has a great selection of all the yummy yarn. I was even able to find some great local yarn! Cunnington Farms offers superior quality locally grown fleece and fiber. I picked up a skein of their Sport weight. At this point, I’m thinking I will turn this beauty into a hat or mittens. We shall see...only time will tell!
